Manning, Janikowski honored

The AFC West has just one team with a winning record heading into November, but October was a nice month for individual players.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was named the AFC offensive player of the month and Oakland Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski has been named the AFC special teams player of the month.

It is Manning’s fifth such honor. Manning completed 77-of-104 passes for 951 yards with nine touchdowns and one interception in October.

Janikowski has won three of the AFC’s last six monthly honors. Janikowski made 10-of-11 field goal attempts in October, his only miss a 64-yarder at the end of regulation against Jacksonville in a game he won in overtime with a field goal.
