As expected, the Oakland Raiders will limp into Sunday’s game at Baltimore.
In no surprise, the Raiders ruled out running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson (both have high ankle sprains) and defensive tackle Richard Seymour (knee and hamstring) for the game.
With McFadden and Goodson out, the Raiders will rely on fullback Marcel Reece and third-string running back Taiwan Jones to carry the load against a Ravens’ defense that has been susceptible to the run in recent weeks. Reece and Jones each have one carry this season. Desmond Bryant is expected to start for Seymour.
There are no guarantees McFadden will be ready to play at home in Week 11 against New Orleans because of the nature of high ankle sprains. This is the first game this season McFadden will miss. He has missed at least three games a season since joining the NFL in 2008.
Meanwhile, Oakland coach Dennis Allen told reporters Willie Smith will remain the starting right tackle. Khalif Barnes has been out for several weeks. He is still questionable to play. Allen had said he was considering using rookie guard Tony Bergstrom at right tackle. But Smith remains the starter.
UPDATE: The NFL fined Oakland safety Tyvon Branch $15,750 for unnecessary roughness (horse collar) for actions Sunday against Tampa Bay.
