Moving on: San Diego Chargers

Here are some areas the San Diego Chargers need to focus on after a 30-23 road loss at the Denver Broncos on Sunday:

Recap: The Chargers essentially saw their chances to stay in the AFC West race disappear Sunday. They have lost five of six games and have a 4-6 record. They trail Denver by three games with six games to go. The Broncos own the tiebreaker.

Biggest area to fix: The offense is out of sync. San Diego had two first downs in the first half and was 3-of-16 on third downs. Quarterback Philip Rivers has been a turnover machine (he committed three more Sunday), but he isn’t getting much help. This unit is in a funk.

Biggest area to build on: The defense has been good for much of the season. It scored nine points on Sunday and kept the team in the game.

What to watch for: The Chargers have a tough test Sunday when the Baltimore Ravens (8-2) come to town. The Chargers are two games out of the wild card race and they must start winning if they have any chance of making the playoffs.
