Charles, Manning react to signing flap

Both Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles and Denver quarterback Peyton Manning reacted to the flap caused when Charles got Manning’s autograph Sunday following the Broncos' win over the Chiefs in Kansas City.

The two players have the same take as I do. It’s no big deal.

Via the Chiefs here are Charles’ thoughts on the issues:

“Yeah, I don’t think it’s a bad deal. People do it every week. I switched jerseys with Ray Rice after the game one week. It’s been going on for years. We’re like brothers, kind of a fraternity in this game, we have respect for each other. I played with Peyton [Manning] in the Pro Bowl in 2011 and we became friends, so I don’t think it was a big deal.”

Via the Broncos, here is Manning’s thoughts:

“You sign for somebody’s brother or mother or a fan -- that’s what you do. Players constantly are trading. You’re signing for teammates and everybody’s got a high school auction or something. That’s part of the deal. That was blown way out of proportion.”
