Here are some areas the Oakland Raiders need to focus on defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 15-0 on Sunday:
Recap: Yes, the Chiefs are the worst team in the NFL and yes, Oakland didn’t score a touchdown. But it’s a win for the Raiders and it snapped a six-game losing streak. Oakland is now 4-10.
Biggest area to fix: Scoring touchdowns. Settling for five field goals is not the best way to a victory. The Raiders moved the ball some Sunday. They need to find the end zone.
Biggest area to build on: Defense. Oakland’s defense is arguably the worst in the NFL. It stood up against Kansas City, arguably the worst offense in the NFL. It was Oakland’s first shutout in 10 years and the Chiefs gained just 119 total yards of offense. It was the fewest yards Oakland gave up since 1975, according to the Associated Press.
What to watch for: Oakland plays at the 5-9 Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The Raiders have not been good on the road.
