Kansas City Chiefs: Moving on

Here are some areas the Kansas City Chiefs need to focus on after a 15-0 road loss at the Oakland Raiders on Sunday:

Recap: This defeat stands out in a lost season as the Chiefs were shut out by a defense that has been terrible all season. They fell to 2-12 and they are in control of getting the No. 1 pick in the draft. Kansas City is 0-10 against AFC competition and it’s this type of uncompetitive performance that very well will force Kansas City ownership into making wholesale changes.

Biggest area to fix: Offense. The Chiefs had 119 yards of offense and didn’t get a first down on the ground. It was just a pathetic performance.

Biggest area to build on: Scoring defense. Kansas City held Oakland to five field goals. In a game where the offense didn’t compete, at least the Chiefs defense didn’t allow this game to get out of hand.

What to watch for: The Chiefs close out their home schedule against Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, there aren’t any Lucks awaiting them with the first overall pick next April.
