Sore left knee causes Larry Fitzgerald to miss practice

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald didn't practice Wednesday, Arizona coach Bruce Arians said, because his left knee was still sore from a hit against Detroit that injured his MCL.

He was in sweatpants during the portion of practice open to the media.

“It is a little bit iffy because he's a little bit sorer than I thought he would be, which we knew he would be,” Arians said. “Hopefully it will loosen up as the week goes on.”

Fitzgerald hasn’t missed a game since 2007. He leads the Cardinals with 46 receptions and 658 yards.

  • Defensive tackle Ed Stinson sat out Wednesday’s practice, Arians said, as his toe continues to heal.

  • Arians said Andre Ellington would be limited Wednesday, a change for the running back who usually has Wednesdays off.

  • Outside linebacker Matt Shaughnessy returned to practice Wednesday after missing six games on injured reserve/designated to return.
