Cards Mailbag: Kevin Minter has found his role

Welcome to #CardsMailbag, a weekly installment that allows you to ask me questions about the Arizona Cardinals throughout the week via Twitter@joshweinfuss. I'll answer them every weekend during the offseason. Make sure to use the hashtag #CardsMailbag.

@joshweinfuss I think Kevin Minter has shown that he has a specific role on this team and it would be silly to expect more for him. He's a thumper - a run-stopping hitter. For any of us to think he's going to be a three-down linebacker would be irresponsible. That's not a knock on Minter, that's just who he is. Arians has said Minter could become a three-down backer, but I'm not sure that's possible because of his physical and mental makeup. He's good at stopping the run. Plain and simple. @joshweinfuss No. Arizona is already too deep at receiver and Pryor is in his infancy as a receiver, so there'd be more teaching than anything else. @joshweinfuss I've written about this quite a bit already but it's not looking good. I won't say for certain that Thomas won't be a Cardinal after training camp. I will say that signs aren't looking good after watching him get pulled from the quarterback rotation during minicamp after a false start. Arians has clearly been frustrated with how the second-year quarterback has progressed. Training camp might be Thomas' last chance. We'll see in August.
