University of Phoenix Stadium's top 10: No. 6 -- Stephens-Howling goes the distance

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Heading into its 10th season, University of Phoenix Stadium has seen its share of memorable performances by a variety of Arizona Cardinals.

My goal was to find the 10 best individual plays or games by a single player. It wasn’t an easy task. My initial list had 15 games and plays on it and I eliminated a few notable performances. A lot of familiar Cards dot the list but some older, forgotten names made the cut.

I’ll be rolling out the top 10 every day until the Cardinals report for this year’s training camp, their third at University of Phoenix Stadium, on July 31.

On to No. 6 ...

No. 6: LaRod Stephens-Howling returns kickoff 102 yards

Date: Sept. 26, 2010

Game: Week 3 vs. Oakland

Why it’s ranked: Before Stephens-Howling returned a kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown in 2012, the Cardinals had just one 100-yard kickoff return since 1979. Stephens-Howling gave University of Phoenix Stadium its first century-mark return in dramatic fashion, breaking through the middle of the field and bouncing outside. It’s a record that may never be hit again at home.
