GLENDALE, Ariz. -- By the end of Thursday's practice, the Arizona Cardinals will know if running back Chris Johnson, cornerback Jerraud Powers and linebacker Sean Weatherspoon will play in Sunday night’s game in Oakland.
The trio will be put through a run test during practice to gauge their viability, coach Bruce Arians said. All three are recovering from hamstring injuries. If they pass, they'll likely be on the field against the Raiders, Arians said.
Not practicing Thursday will be safety Ross Weaver, defensive tackle Ed Stinson, wide receiver Travis Harvey, wide receiver Michael Floyd, tackle Rob Crisp, guard Mike Iupati and tight end Troy Niklas.
Arians said Stinson suffered a toe injury that’s not serious. A toe injury on his other foot ended Stinson’s 2014 season prematurely.
“[It’s] going to be an injection deal and [we’ll] hopefully have him back next week for that ballgame,” Arians said.
The knee injury that held Crisp, the rookie out of NC State, out of camp earlier this month, will keep Crisp out again. Arians said Crisp’s knee “did not respond.”
