Cardinals WR John Brown to be game-time decision vs. Browns

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians didn't see enough out of wide receiver John Brown in one limited practice this week to make a decision on his status for Sunday’s game in Cleveland.

Brown, who missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and was limited Friday with a hamstring injury, was listed as questionable for this weekend’s game. Arians couldn’t judge Brown’s explosiveness in practice to estimate how ready he will be.

“He hasn’t practiced enough to see,” Arians said. “We’ll have to see it in pregame.”

Arians ruled tight end Darren Fells (shoulder) and linebacker Alex Okafor (calf) out of the game. He said cornerback Jerraud Powers, who’s dealing with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, will make the trip. He was listed as questionable.

“He’s just making good progress in his rehab,” Arians said. “He’s a physically tough guy but a really mentally tough guy. It’s going to take a lot to keep him out of a big game.”

Also questionable is wide receiver Brittan Golden (groing), who Arians said will be a game-time decision, too.

Arians said Okafor was feeling better “too late in the process now to risk it,” but added that he is getting close to returning.

Listed as probable were cornerback Justin Bethel (foot), safety Deone Bucannon (elbow), linebacker Dwight Freeney (finger), defensive tackle Frostee Rucker (quad) and center Lyle Sendlein (ankle).
