TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald has enough money to buy himself anything he wants multiple times over, but his teammates this season were able to get him a Christmas gift that he couldn’t buy himself.
It’s also something he won’t soon forget.
“I think this is definitely the best gift my teammates have ever given me, being able to win 12 games in a season,” Fitzgerald said Thursday. “And that’s something money can’t buy.”
At 12-2, the Cardinals set a franchise record for wins in a season with two games left.
Prior to this season, the most games Fitzgerald had won with the Cardinals were 11 last season, and 10 twice, in 2009 and 2013.
