Jason Babin among Cardinals' inactives for NFC title game

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A week after playing just one snap in his debut for the Arizona Cardinals, linebacker Jason Babin won’t see the field in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game.

Babin was one of Arizona’s seven inactives, joining quarterback Matt Barkley, CB Corey White, RB Kerwynn Williams, LB Shaq Riddick, T D.J. Humphries and NT Xavier Williams.

There weren’t any major surprises when Arizona announced their inactives. Babin was signed to add depth to the Cards’ pass rush, but having been on the team for less than two weeks hasn’t given him enough time to master the scheme, especially against a quarterback like Carolina’s Cam Newton. The other six inactive players also were inactive last week.

Defensive tackle Red Bryant was active after being inactive last week.
