Cardinals see potential in CFL sack master Tristan Okpalaugo

INDIANAPOLIS -- It didn't matter to Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim where Tristan Okpalaugo got his sacks.

North of the border. South of the border. Wherever. Okpalaugo had 23 sacks the last two years in the Canadian Football League. Keim saw what he liked from the 26-year-old during his tryout in Arizona two weeks ago.

“He was a guy we felt was worth taking a shot at,” Keim said. “He’s long, athletic and he had a really nice workout for us.

“He can drop and do some of the things we ask our outside backers do.”

Arizona signed Okpalaugo to a one-year contract worth $450,000. He received a $30,000 signing bonus and is eligible for a $10,000 workout bonus.
