Sam Bradford to wear No. 9 as Cardinals newcomers get numbers

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Sam Bradford is adding to his collection of numbers.

But he isn't straying far from what he's used to.

After wearing No. 8 for the majority of his career and donning No. 7 in Philadelphia in 2015-16, the Arizona Cardinals' new starting quarterback will wear No. 9, according to the team's website. Bradford was No. 8 with the St. Louis Rams and Minnesota Vikings. Both numbers were available in Arizona. With Bradford going with No. 9, fellow quarterback Mike Glennon will wear No. 7.

The rest of the new Cardinals also have their new numbers.

Offensive lineman Justin Pugh will wear No. 67, the same number he wore the past four seasons with the New York Giants. He wore No. 72 as a rookie in 2013 but switched to No. 67 the next season.

Fellow offensive lineman Andre Smith will wear the only number he's ever had: No. 71.

Cornerback Bene Benwikere will wear No. 23, the number he wore in Dallas last season. Before 2017, Benwikere was No. 25 in Carolina for three seasons. Recently signed defensive lineman Moubarak Djeri will wear No. 61.

Wide receiver Cobi Hamilton, who was awarded to the Cardinals off waivers, will don No. 12 -- John Brown's former number -- and inside linebacker Jeremy Cash, also awarded to the Cards off waivers, will wear No. 52.
