Ravens get another reunion on defense

A week after their reunion with safety Ed Reed, the Baltimore Ravens will see familiar faces on the Bills defense when they visit Buffalo on Sunday. It's not the same level as Reed, but there are plenty of connections:

  • Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine spent seven seasons (2002-08) on the Ravens defensive coaching staff. He coached the outside linebackers in his final three seasons, where he worked with Terrell Suggs.

  • Bills defensive backs coach Donnie Henderson, a Baltimore native, held the same position with the Ravens from 2000-03. He was part of the Ravens' first Super Bowl team and helped mentor the likes of Chris McAlister and Duane Starks.

  • Bills defensive line coach Anthony Weaver was a second-round pick by the Ravens in 2002 and spent four seasons in Baltimore. He totaled 136 tackles and 14.5 sacks.

  • Bills safety Jim Leonhard started 13 games for the Ravens in 2008, coach John Harbaugh's first season in Baltimore. Leonhard earned his spot on the team after a tryout and eventually worked his way into the starting lineup after Dawan Landry was hurt. He had 69 tackles, one sack, one interception and six passes defensed for the Ravens that season.
