NEW ORLEANS -- As it stands now, the Baltimore Ravens (6-4) are ninth in an increasingly crowded six-team playoff field.
If the Ravens beat the Saints on "Monday Night Football," they would move to seventh and firmly on the postseason bubble. Under that scenario, the Ravens would have the same record as the Kansas City Chiefs (No. 5) and San Diego Chargers (No. 6), but they lose the tiebreaker because of a worse conference record. The Ravens are 3-4 in the AFC, while the Chiefs and Chargers are both 5-3 in the conference.
If the Ravens lose to the Saints, the Ravens would have the same record as the Miami Dolphins (6-5), but they drop to 10th out of 16 teams because of a worse conference record. The Dolphins are 5-3 in the AFC. Under this scenario, the Pittsburgh Steelers move into the No. 5 seed and the Chiefs hold the No. 6 seed.
The Ravens need to win in order to stay out of last place in the AFC North.
