Mel Kiper's grade for Ravens' 2015 draft

The Baltimore Ravens got great value in this year's draft, and ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. applauded them for it.

The Ravens are one of five teams to receive an A-minus from Kiper in his 2015 draft grades. No team earned a higher grade than the Ravens, Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins and New York Jets.

Many consider Kiper a Baltimore homer -- which he brings up in his grade -- because he grew up and lives in the area. But the Ravens got great value when looking at Kiper's Big Board entering the draft.

Baltimore drafted three players in the first 90 picks (wide receiver Breshad Perriman, tight end Maxx Williams and defensive lineman Carl Davis) who were among Kiper's top 50 players. Perriman, the 14th-best player according to Kiper, was drafted by the Ravens with the No. 26 overall pick.

According to Kiper's Big Board, the Ravens got their best Day 3 values with pass rusher Za'Darius Smith (fourth round) and wide receiver Darren Waller (sixth round).

"It couldn’t have worked out any better," assistant general manager Eric DeCosta said. "I think, just in terms of if we had imagined this draft beforehand, we’d be very, very excited. So, we got it, and it looks great on paper. But hopefully, it looks good in person as well.”

Here are the Kiper's previous grades for recent draft classes:

2010: A

2011: B-plus

2012: B

2013: A-minus

2014: B

2015: A-minus
