OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Tight end Crockett Gillmore is the Baltimore Ravens' NFL-leading 19th player to be placed on injured reserve and the eighth season-opening starter to suffer a season-ending injury.
Gillmore, who was in his first season as Baltimore's starting tight end, missed the last two games after his back flared up. He was the Ravens' fourth-leading receiver this season with 33 catches for 412 yards and four touchdowns.
Through 13 weeks, Gillmore was one of five tight ends to catch more than 30 passes, average more than 12 yards per catch and score at least four touchdowns. Rookie second-round pick Maxx Williams will continue to replace Gillmore.
The Ravens' list of season-opening starters on injured reserve is: quarterback Joe Flacco, wide receiver Steve Smith, linebacker Terrell Suggs, running back Justin Forsett, offensive tackle Eugene Monroe, center Jeremy Zuttah, defensive end Chris Canty and Gillmore.
