West Virginia has gotten some reinforcements at receiver, writes Mitch Vingle of the Charleston Gazette.
ESPN300 receiver Jovon Durant, Gary Jennings and Ka'Raun White are on campus and going through summer workouts with a Mountaineer team that must replace Kevin White and Mario Alford, a couple of NFL draft picks.
"They look good," WVU receivers coach Lonnie Galloway told Vingle. "Jovon is a wiry, quick kid with a whole lot of twitch. Gary is a big, strong physical kid. He and Jovon both have the ability to come in here and play. Now, how much I don't know. But they're both talented."
Jennings was a huge signing day addition for the Mountaineers and could provide a immediate help with his combination of size (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) and athleticism. He really helped the recruiting class come together by picking WVU over Virginia, Wisconsin, Notre Dame and others.
Even though WVU has talented receivers on campus, including Shelton Gibson, Jordan Thompson and Daikeil Shorts, the newcomers seem ready to play immediately which should give Galloway plenty of options and amp up the competition.
"They look good," Galloway said. "Jovon is a wiry, quick kid with a whole lot of twitch. Gary is a big, strong physical kid. He and Jovon both have the ability to come in here and play. Now, how much I don’t know. But they’re both talented."
