FORT WORTH, Texas -- In TCU's team meeting room hangs a sign with the slogan for the upcoming season.
This year's motto underscores the monster expectations that will be with the Horned Frogs as they open camp Thursday.
"Prove them right."
“Last year, we had to prove people wrong," Patterson said. "This year, we have to prove people right.”
TCU opened up in the coaches poll ranked second behind defending champ Ohio State, the highest mark the Horned Frogs have ever begun in a preseason poll.
Patterson, however, isn't shying away away from the expectations. In fact, he's embraced them.
“It’s like dating," he said. "I'd rather be the front-runner."
Wednesday, I'll be headed to Waco to check in on Baylor, which also will be opening two-a-days with huge expectations. The two-time defending Big 12 champs debuted at No. 4 in the coaches poll.
