Here's the latest on what's been cooking on the Big 12 recruiting trail:

BAYLOR

Total commits: 13

ESPN 300 commits: 6

The latest: The Bears had 5-star defensive end McTelvin Agim at practice over the weekend. Agim, out of Hope, Arkansas, is the No. 9 overall player in the ESPN 300. The Bears also had another defensive end in for a visit in rising DE Brandon Bowen..

IOWA STATE

Total commits: 5

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Cyclones have an official visit set up for 4-star Kissimmee, Florida, cornerback Carlos Becker for Oct. 17, when TCU will be in Ames. Becker also will take visits to NC State and Wisconsin. The ESPN 300 prospect is the No. 14 cornerback recruit in the country. Kentucky and Florida are angling to get Becker's other two official visits .

KANSAS

Total commits: 10

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: David Beaty continued to make inroads into the Lone Star State, picking up a verbal from Houston linebacker Maciah Long. Beaty's highest-rated commitment yet, Long had offers from the likes of Arizona State, UCLA, Ohio State and Missouri. Long, also a quarterback, committed to Kansas while visiting over the weekend.

KANSAS STATE

Total commits: 9

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: A week after adding linebacker Jimmy McKinney, the Wildcats kept their focus on the front seven by picking up a commitment from Dallas defensive lineman Jordon Robertson, who also had an offer from Iowa.

OKLAHOMA

Total commits: 10

ESPN 300 commits: 2

The latest: For the second straight year, the Sooners swiped a DB from Baylor's backyard, snagging a commitment from Waco, Texas, native Parrish Cobb over the weekend. The three-star cornerback, who also had offers from Arizona State, Arkansas and Texas, followed in the footsteps of fellow Waco native and Oklahoma freshman safety Kahlil Haughton, who committed to the Sooners over Baylor last winter. Also late Monday afternoon, Oklahoma picked up a commitment from New Orleans 3-star LB Pernell Jefferson, who was being pursued by Mississippi State, Nebraska and TCU.

OKLAHOMA STATE

Total commits: 12

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: With his DeSoto (Texas) teammate, running back La'Darren Brown, already on board, the Cowboys are hoping they can convince cornerback A.J. Green to join him. Green has offers from Boise State, Missouri and Wisconsin, but visited Oklahoma State over the summer.

TCU

Total commits: 15

ESPN 300 commits: 5

The latest: The Horned Frogs are the latest to throw their hat in the ring for Vienna, Georgia, defensive end Antonneous Clayton, having offered him last week. The nation's No. 63 overall prospects has offers from some of the premier programs in the country, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame and Penn State.

TEXAS

ESPN 300 commits: 3

The latest: The Longhorns recently got a pair of ESPN 300 recruits in for unofficial visits in offensive lineman Patrick Hudson and cornerback Eric Cuffee. Hudson is a longtime Baylor commit who's probably still unlikely to flip. The Longhorns will be fighting the Bears for Cuffee, a Waco native, as well.

TEXAS TECH

Total commits: 25

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Despite already holding 23 commitments, the Red Raiders showed no signs of slowing down last week, picking up commitments from Dallas Skyline linemen Joe Wallace and Clarence Henderson. Wallace had offers from Iowa State, Maryland and Washington; Henderson was being pursued by Cal and UCLA as well as the Huskies.

WEST VIRGINIA

Total commits: 17

ESPN 300 commits: 1

The latest: The Mountaineers added some big-time firepower last week, snagging a commitment from 4-star WR Steven Smothers. The Maryland native held offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State and Michigan. Smothers could be a natural fit in the slot in Dana Holgorsen's attack, and will have the potential to bolster the Mountaineers on special teams when he gets to campus.
