Big 12 recruiting scorecard: TCU adds sixth ESPN 300 pledge

Here's what's new on the Big 12 recruiting trail entering Week 5:

BAYLOR

Total commits: 15

ESPN 300 commits: 6

The latest: Baylor added ATH Donovan Duvernay to its class last week as expected then picked up another pledge from three-star DE Micheal Johnson. Now we'll see if Devin Duvernay sticks to his word that he and his brother are a package deal. The ESPN 300 receiver took an official visit to Ohio State this weekend and will take one to Alabama in October.

IOWA STATE

Total commits: 8

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Iowa State secured commitments last week from Minnesota DT Jamahl Johnson and Georgia S Kendrec Grady. The latter was a particularly nice get, since Grady turned down offers from Louisville, Boston College, Illinois, Syracuse and others. He reached his decision after his 14-hour drive to Iowa State for his official visit earlier this month.

KANSAS

Total commits: 10

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Kansas continues to make a nice push for 2017 ATH DaRon Davis. He took an unofficial visit for the Memphis game and the KU staff appears to be in great shape for Davis. He reportedly considered committing to Missouri over the summer, but he kept his recruitment open and the Jayhawks are closing the gap.

KANSAS STATE

Total commits: 11

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: K-State is set to host Louisiana CB Coney Durr for an official visit in October. He hails from one of the better powerhouses in that state, Dutchtown High, and could end up being a key target for KSU. Durr is also planning to visit Minnesota at the end of October.

OKLAHOMA

Total commits: 10

ESPN 300 commits: 2

The latest: Is Oklahoma going to miss out on its No. 1 target at running back? ESPN 300 RB Devwah Whaley, the top uncommitted back in the country, was once considered a Sooner lean. Now it looks like Georgia has taken the lead. The fact OU offered three-star RB Trevor Speights this weekend might be sign they're preparing their backup plan.

OKLAHOMA STATE

Total commits: 15

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Cowboys brought in Kansas three-star DE Isaiahh Loudermilk for a visit earlier this month for their blowout win over UTSA, and he'll be an intriguing lineman to follow. Loudermilk plays eight-man football in Howard, Kansas, but has still managed to get some big offers. Oklahoma State is high on his list along with Oregon, Missouri and Kansas State.

TCU

Total commits: 16

ESPN 300 commits: 6

The latest: TCU picked up another huge commitment last week from ESPN 300 DE Isaiah Chambers, who picked the Horned Frogs over Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas and Washington. This staff's strong efforts in Houston have really paid off big in 2016. All six of their ESPN 300 pledges hail from that area.

TEXAS

Total commits: 9

ESPN 300 commits: 3

The latest: After missing on so many defensive linemen, Texas does at least have one new target: DE Andrew Fitzgerald. The three-star end from Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus was offered last week and responded by taking a visit for the Oklahoma State game. He's also considering North Carolina, Oregon and Kansas State.

TEXAS TECH

Total commits: 24

ESPN 300 commits: 0

The latest: Texas Tech had a big recruiting weekend in Lubbock for the TCU game. Three-star quarterback commit Jett Duffey took his official visit for the game and a bunch of his fellow commits were in town as well. The most high-profile recruit on campus: 2017 lineman Jack Anderson. The nation's No. 1 center recruit for next year sure seems to be leaning toward the Red Raiders.

WEST VIRGINIA

Total commits: 19

ESPN 300 commits: 1

The latest: West Virginia had some big-time targets in campus for the win over Maryland, including ESPN 300 standouts LB Brendan Ferns and WR Binjimen Victor. One more to keep an eye on: Ohio DB Sean Mahone. He visited as well and is reportedly down to WVU, Kentucky, Virginia and Purdue.
