It took awhile, but we can finally project a Big 12 team to make the College Football Playoff.
The CFP selection committee bumped Oklahoma up four spots to No. 3 following its win over TCU. Baylor's impressive performance at Oklahoma State, however, might've had just as much to do with OU's drastic move up since the Sooners defeated the Bears in Waco, Texas, the week before.
For OU, the path to the playoff now looks pretty simple.
Just win Bedlam.
The Sooners, however, aren't the only Big 12 playoff contender left, as Baylor could jump back into the playoff conversation with a victory Friday over TCU. The committee moved the Bears up three spots to No. 7 following their win in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Baylor is just a couple of upsets away from being very much in the mix again.
West Virginia, meanwhile, joined Texas Tech in clinching its bowl eligibility over the weekend. The Mountaineers and Red Raiders still look destined for the AdvoCare V100 Texas and AutoZone Liberty bowls, respectively.
Kansas State also kept its bowl dreams alive with a dramatic last-second comeback over Iowa State. If the Wildcats handle Kansas this weekend, they'll be playing for a sixth win at home against West Virginia in their regular-season finale. Texas will also have to win Thanksgiving night against the Red Raiders to keep its chances of a .500 season alive.
