Big 12 recruiting scorecard: Early commits go against Oklahoma, Texas

Here's the latest from the recruiting trail around the Big 12:

BAYLOR

Total commits: 6

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 4

The latest: Baylor should have an impressive list of recruits on campus for its Friday Night Lights event later this month. Among those expected to visit are ESPN Junior 300 commit WR Hezekiah Jones, ESPN Junior 300 CB Kary Vincent and OL Edward Ingram, the DeSoto, Texas, standout who has been one of the hottest recruits in Texas this spring and who recently picked up an Alabama offer.

IOWA STATE

Total commits: 2

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: Iowa State is in a better position with two key targets, Missouri OT Marquis Hayes and Iowa OT Mark Kallenberger, following their junior day visits. Kallenberger could be a tough pull if he's leaning toward Iowa. Hayes' offer list is growing and includes Mizzou and Illinois.

KANSAS

Total commits: 3

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Jayhawks brought in TE Trevor Kent, one of the top recruits in Kansas, for their recent junior day. Kent is a 6-foot-4, 250-pound athlete who could also end up playing defensive end in college. KU will let him play either spot (or even both), but Kent also has offers from OU, Michigan and Nebraska.

KANSAS STATE

Total commits: 1

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: Kansas State is one of the many schools in the mix for DT Damion Daniels, the brother of Oklahoma State DT Darrion Daniels. The younger Daniels also has offers from Oklahoma State, Texas, LSU, Michigan, USC, UCLA and many more schools. He does have a connection at K-State: he's the cousin and high school teammate of KSU signee Jordon Robertson.

OKLAHOMA

Total commits: 6

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 5

The latest: The Sooners missed out on electric ATH Roshauud Paul, who made an early pledge to Texas A&M, but they did host ESPN Junior 300 WR Tylan Wallace and his twin brother QB Tracin Wallace over the weekend. Tylan's list of offers is close to 20 and includes OU, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Notre Dame and Michigan.

OKLAHOMA STATE

Total commits: 3

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: The Cowboys picked up two new commitments, from in-state offensive lineman Adrian Wolford and OLB Brendan Vaughn out of Forney, Texas. Wolford might be the top junior lineman in Oklahoma, but the Pokes got in before he had many offers. Vaughn is a safety who should grow into the linebacker spot.

TCU

Total commits: 3

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 2

The latest: TCU is in very good shape with one of the most coveted receivers in the state of Texas, Lancaster's Omar Manning. The Horned Frogs are reportedly in the lead ahead of a growing offer list that now includes Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame and Texas. He's expected to visit Texas A&M in the near future as well.

TEXAS

Total commits: 4

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 2

The latest: The Longhorns missed out on J.K. Dobbins, who made an early commitment to Ohio State on Sunday, but Charlie Strong and his staff will continue to pursue the state's No. 2 rated back until signing day. Dobbins, the No. 87 recruit in the ESPN Junior 300, had been leaning toward Texas last summer so this pledge was a bit of a surprise.

TEXAS TECH

Total commits: 5

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 1

The latest: Keep an eye on Texas Tech commit WR Jalen Reagor, because he's becoming a lot more popular this spring. Reagor, a Tech legacy, committed in December but has since picked up offers from Texas A&M, Florida State, Missouri, Cal and several others. He's still solid with the Red Raiders at the moment.

WEST VIRGINIA

Total commits: 1

ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0

The latest: West Virginia made the early top five for the No. 1 rated quarterback in California. Tristan Gebbia recently visited Morgantown and announced he has WVU on his short list along with Ole Miss, Nebraska, Washington and Washington State. Gebbia is ESPN's No. 7 ranked pocket passer recruit.
