Niles Paul plans a Holiday Bowl return

Nebraska senior receiver Niles Paul said he thought his career was over when he broke his foot in practice before the Huskers' regular-season finale against Colorado.

Not so. He'll get one more chance against Washington in the Holiday Bowl after being cleared to play in Thursday night's game.

From the Omaha World-Herald:

He said he plans to participate on special teams and offense. Paul ranks as the Huskers’ top return man on punts and kickoffs.

"As long as they allow me to do it,” he said. “I’m going to do whatever I can to help the team out and play my role."

It's a big boost for the Huskers' offense, which struggled in the passing game without Paul in the Big 12 championship. He needs one more reception to tie his career high of 40 catches in a season.

He also has a team-leading 516 receiving yards and a touchdown.
