Time to set your calendars, Big 12 fans

With spring practice all finished and students headed away from campuses for the summer, it's official: We're in the longest stretch of the year for college football fans.

Big 12 spring meetings are later this month, but college football news will be at its annual low point for the next two months.

The release of "NCAA Football 2012" (set for July 12 this year) is always a welcome respite in my book, and though the season doesn't begin until September, you won't have to wait that long for college football to heat up.

The Big 12 has set its unofficial beginning of football season: annual media days.

The two-day (down from three days previously) gabfest is back in Dallas this July, and I'll be there along with the rest of the Big 12 media. Player lists are still very fluid, but here's what the schedule looks like for now.

Monday, July 25

  • Texas A&M

  • Baylor

  • Oklahoma State

  • Missouri

  • Texas

Tuesday, July 26

  • Texas Tech

  • Kansas

  • Iowa State

  • Kansas State

  • Oklahoma

Oklahoma State is the only team to announce its convoy. The Cowboys will be bringing QB Brandon Weeden, WR Justin Blackmon and S Markelle Martin.
