A look at the college football bowl schedule

The official bowl schedule was released on Friday, so here's a look at when the Big 12 bowl games will be played:

  • Dec. 28: Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl vs. Pac-12, 8 p.m. ET, ESPN (payout: $4.3 million)

  • Dec. 29: Valero Alamo Bowl vs. Pac-12, 9 p.m. ET, ESPN ($6.35 million)

  • Dec. 30: New Era Pinstripe Bowl vs. Big East, 3:20 p.m. ET, ESPN ($3.6 million)

  • Dec. 30: Insight Bowl vs. Big Ten, 10 p.m. ET, ESPN ($6.7 million)

  • Dec. 31: Meineke Car Care Bowl vs. Big Ten, 12 p.m. ET, ESPN ($3.4 million)

  • Jan. 5: Tostitos Fiesta Bowl vs. BCS, 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN (TBA)

  • Jan. 6: AT&T Cotton Bowl vs. SEC, 8 p.m. ET, FOX ($7.25 million)

  • Jan. 9: BCS National Championship Game (New Orleans), 8 p.m. ET, ESPN (TBA)

There's certainly some debate about whether or not the Big 12, with a new nine-game conference schedule, can fill all its slots, but we'll find out this winter.

For now, though, September needs to hurry up and get here.
