Double check your alarm clocks, Red River fans.
Oklahoma and Texas are set for an noon ET kickoff on Oct. 8 this year.
The rivalry game, played annually at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas since 1929, will be a national ABC broadcast.
I generally favor the later 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff (and not just because of the additional sleep) in this rivalry, which, in my opinion, produces a more energetic atmosphere in what's traditionally one of the best of the year.
The burnt orange and crimson-clad fans are always split at the 50-yard line, but they're not always at the same volume.
My guess is a later kickoff would only have been a regional broadcast or the reverse mirror, where ABC broadcasts the game in the region, and ESPN broadcasts it everywhere else.
This year, though, I hope you like corny dogs for breakfast.
