Prepping for national signing day

Are you ready for Recruiting Christmas on Wednesday?

If not, our recruiting staff would like to make sure you're prepared.

Check out their notebook full of storylines to watch and the top uncommitted prospects.

Here's a look at the three biggest storylines from the Midlands region, covered by colleague Damon Sayles.

Who gets DGB?

Dorial Green-Beckham (Springfield, Mo./Hillcrest) is 6-foot-6, 220 pounds and loaded with talent. As signing day approaches, the same questions come up. Will Green-Beckham stay close to home and sign with Missouri? Will he choose Arkansas, the school many feel he'll help the most? Will Green-Beckham decide to throw a curveball and choose either Texas, Alabama or Oklahoma? Green-Beckham has seen all of his suitors go the extra mile for his services -- from multiple home visits to appearances at his school via helicopter -- and now, it's time to close the chapter with an announcement.

Can Texas get the No. 1 spot?

Texas is No. 2 in the latest class rankings, behind Alabama and ahead of Florida State, Florida and Georgia. The Longhorns on Saturday picked up an ESPNU 150 athlete in Daje Johnson(Pflugerville, Texas/Hendrickson) and former Tennessee commit Dalton Santos (Van, Texas/Van), the nation's top inside linebacker. While it's not like the Horns to add players this late, it wouldn't be surprising if they snuck in and grabbed another elite prospect and challenged for the top spot.

Will Oklahoma close in style?

In the past couple of weeks, Oklahoma has had its ups and downs with recruiting. While the Sooners have 18 commits, only four are classified as defensive players. The Sooners are looking for more help on the defensive side of the ball, which is why they hope to land three-star defensive end Michael Onuoha (Edmond, Okla./Santa Fe) and three-star cornerback Zack Sanchez (Keller, Texas/Central). Onuoha will choose between OU and Missouri, while Sanchez, who committed to Baylor in July, will determine if he wants to switch his commitment.

We'll have you covered from all angles on Wednesday, so be sure to keep it here for updates throughout the day.
