AUSTIN, Texas -- As Colt McCoy analyzes Oklahoma's defense, he finds it hard to believe the Sooners have dropped two of their first five games.
The Sooners return nine starters from the team that lost to Texas, 45-35, last season.
But McCoy said the group looks very strong.
"They are really talented, especially their front seven guys," McCoy said. "They had some of the best (line) backers in the conference and their front line will probably all get drafted this year. They are really good and we understand that going into the game. We're just going to be sharp and focused and ready to execute."
Considering the high stakes, McCoy expects to be ready for his fourth career start against the Sooners.
"This game determines a lot for your season and I think it's a big challenge for us," McCoy said. "Our defense is playing great. Their defense is playing great. They've had some up-and-downs in preseason with injuries and things like that. And their record does not indicate how good they are.
"We understand that going in and know that we have to take care of business, prepare this week and be ready."
