Bill Murray meets the Longhorns during Austin visit

The classic film "Groundhog Day" deals with reliving the same events day after day. Bill Murray plays the lead character Phil Connors, a Pittsburgh weatherman who finds his life looping through the same actions again and again.

Texas coach Mack Brown could identify, considering his team has won three of its four games this season by identical 52-10 scores, including the last two straight.

So was there some weird coincidence for the Longhorns' game against Arkansas on Saturday that Murray was on the sidelines watching the action?

I don't know, but Murray made a point of hanging out with the Longhorns while filming a movie in Austin the last few weeks. Highlights of his trip included receiving a Longhorns replica jersey, getting to meet Brown, visiting with Quan Cosby and Colt McCoy and actually sitting on the saddle that is a conversation piece in Brown's office.

MackBrown-TexasFootball.com has an extensive transcript of an interview with Murray and a gallery of pictures from his visit.

Something tells me that Brown would love to keep reliving his own personal "Groundhog Day" -- at least in terms of scores -- through the next two weeks. If and when his dream ends, I bet he hopes it lasts at least through the Oklahoma game.
