Notre Dame transfer Spencer Boyd has enrolled at South Florida and will be eligible beginning in 2011, according to the St. Petersburg Times' Greg Auman.

Boyd enrolled at Notre Dame in January but decided to leave after spring practice. He was working out at defensive back with the Irish but could play receiver with the Bulls, Auman reports. ESPN's Scouts Inc. ranked Boyd as the 34th best athlete in the class of 2010.

Boyd is from Cape Coral, Fla., and transferred from Notre Dame because of personal reasons. He could give a boost to either the Bulls' receiving corps, which is lacking in numbers this season, or to a defensive backfield that is being retooled.
