Cincinnati's Zach Collaros and Rutgers' Tom Savage are among 30 players who have been named to the Davey O'Brien Award preseason watch list. The award is presented to the nation's top quarterback, taking into account performance, sportsmanship and academics.
Savage is one of only four sophomore on the list. Missing from the list is South Florida's B.J. Daniels, another sophomore. Collaros earned the honor despite making just four career starts.
They are not the only Big East signal callers to be singled out by a quarterback award. Connecticut's Zach Frazer was named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list. That award is presented to the top senior quarterback in country.
