Big East predictions: Week 11

I fear the Big East's mediocrity this season is rubbing off on me.

I went just 1-1 last week and am just 4-5 in the last three weeks. Ugh. With the parity in this league, it could be a bumpy ride the rest of the way.

Pitt 23, Connecticut 16: UConn is unbeaten at home and has played Pitt tough in the past. But these Huskies are still pretty one-dimensional on offense, with a shaky passing game that won't concern the Panthers' defense too much. Pittsburgh has too many options now that Tino Sunseri has progressed, and Connecticut doesn't have enough to keep up.

Louisville 24, South Florida 21: This is my game of the week. Check my video post later this afternoon for a breakdown of this game and an explanation of my pick.

West Virginia 28, Cincinnati 20: I like the struggling Mountaineers offense to have a much-improved performance this week. Why? Because the Cincinnati defense is very generous and accommodating. Look for Geno Smith to pick apart a young secondary. The return of Zach Collaros will help the Bearcats, but the Mountaineers will shut down the running game.

Syracuse 17, Rutgers 10: Orange fans would love for me to pick against them since they usually do the opposite of what I project. But I just can't go against them on the Big East road, where they're 3-0. Especially not against a Scarlet Knights team that not only is having a hard time scoring but lately isn't really stopping people, either.

Last week: 1-1

Season results: 39-10
