Big East bowl projections

With only two weeks to go in the regular season, the Big East bowl picture is as unclear as ever.

All eight teams are alive for the postseason, but only five -- Pitt, West Virginia, Syracuse, Connecticut and South Florida -- have qualified. Rutgers, Cincinnati and Louisville each has to win its remaining game or games to make the postseason.

I believe Louisville will win at struggling Rutgers this week, and that Cincinnati will lose one of its final two. So there's that. The Big East also has to watch out for Notre Dame, which can get to 7-5 if it beats Southern Cal this week, making it an attractive option for the Champs Sports Bowl. But for now I'm leaving the Irish out of it, and I'm still going with the current leader for the BCS spot.
