Todd Graham completes Pitt staff

New Pittsburgh Panthers head coach Todd Graham finished hiring members of the coaching staff Wednesday by announcing that Randall McCray will be joining the team as safeties coach and special teams coordinator.

A 20-year coaching veteran, McCray was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach last season at Middle Tennessee State. Before that, he was an assistant at Wisconsin from 2006 to 2009 and Toledo from 2003 to 2005.

“Randall McCray has an extensive and diverse background as a football coach,” Graham said in a statement released by the school. “His experience and expertise will make him a great resource for our players and coaches alike."

McCray's defense at Middle Tennessee State ranked 10th nationally in tackles for loss last season and and 17th in quarterback sacks while featuring Sun Belt Conference defensive player of the year Jamari Lattimore. At Pitt, he'll work with a safeties group that lost All-Big East performer Dom DeCicco but returns solid veterans in juniors Jarred Holley and Andrew Taglianetti.
