It is Thursday, so that means it is time for your weekly poll question.
Today I ask: Who will be the Big East Offensive Player of the Year?
There are two candidates that are going to be on every preseason list -- Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and Pitt running back Ray Graham. But after them, who are some of the players among the best in the league on offense? Here are four to consider. Please feel free to write in your candidates if you disagree with my choices.
Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville. Many are expecting Bridgewater to take a big leap from his freshman season. He and Graham are the only two players on the watch list for the Maxwell Award, given annually to the best player in college football. But is there a chance for a sophomore slump?
B.J. Daniels, QB, USF. Time for Daniels to show everybody he can lead his team to a championship. Daniels goes into 2012 off his best statistical season, with 2,585 yards passing and 13 touchdown passes, along with 601 yards rushing and another six touchdowns. Can he put everything together?
Ray Graham, RB, Pitt. Graham also is on the preseason Maxwell Award Watch List, despite coming off a major knee injury. While it is hard to predict how players bounce back from ACL injuries, most everybody expects Graham to be able to pick up where he left off in 2011.
Montel Harris, RB, Temple. Harris was the preseason choice to win ACC Player of the Year honors a season ago, but he hurt his knee and took a medical redshirt. After getting dismissed from the Boston College football team, he transferred to Temple for one final season. He goes to the Owls with 3,735 career rushing yards.
