Syracuse coach Doug Marrone has now joined the Twitter-verse. Facebook, too!
The school announced Wednesday that the head coach has decided to join in on the social media fun with the creation of two new accounts. Marrone will provide fans exclusive behind-the-scenes access to his team day-to-day, and will also provide updates on his Twitter page.
“We have a very passionate and interested fan base and I want to give them more of a glimpse into what we do here on a daily basis,” Marrone said in a statement. “I will be posting pictures, videos and messages that I think fans will enjoy seeing. It will be information that they obviously can’t see anywhere else. I believe it will give our fans a very close look at what most other programs keep behind closed doors.”
I have to say, most Big East coaches do an excellent job using Twitter. In some of the more recent examples, Cincinnati coach Butch Jones gave followers updates and photos during his trip to Miami during the NBA Finals. USF coach Skip Holtz tweeted candid pictures of his players, and jokes during Big East media day. Louisville coach Charlie Strong sends out Cardinals links. Rutgers coach Kyle Flood sends out behind-the-scenes photos as well.
Hopefully Marrone will be just as entertaining.
