Indiana will introduce Oklahoma offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson as its next head coach Tuesday afternoon, an IU source confirmed Tuesday morning.
Wilson had been considered the front-runner for the Indiana job since the middle of last week and interviewed with school officials Monday in Indianapolis. Although he told Oklahoma reporters late Monday afternoon that nothing was finalized, the two parties have worked out an agreement.
Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Doeren and Michigan State offensive coordinator Don Treadwell also were interviewed for the job.
Indiana will introduce Wilson at a 4 p.m. ET news conference at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.
I've known Wilson since his time as Northwestern's offensive coordinator (1999-2001). I like him a lot and he has a tremendous offensive mind. My one concern: Can he fix Indiana's defense, which has been horrible for more than a decade?
I'll have a full reaction on Wilson's hiring following the news conference.
