Star forward Rick Nash was dealt from the Columbus Blue Jackets to the New York Rangers on Monday for a package that included centers Brandon Dubinsky and Artem Anisimov, defenseman Tim Erixon and a first-round pick.
The Bruins were after Nash at one point as well, but last week a source close to the situation told ESPNBoston.com that the price for Nash had grown too high for Boston’s liking.
There had been reports that the asking price for Nash from the Bruins was any combination of David Krejci, Milan Lucic, Tyler Seguin and prized prospect Dougie Hamilton.
