Amstel Light trying to solve mystery

One of the most hotly debated questions over the Bruins’ $156,000 bar tab from their trip to Foxwoods last weekend was which player ordered the $6 bottle of Amstel Light, which stood out like a sore thumb among the Jager bombs, Red Bulls and bottles of liquor on the now infamous receipt.

Now, we may finally get an answer.

Amstel Light has offered free beer for the player’s day with the Stanley Cup, plus more free beer at a Canada Day or Independence Day barbeque if a player fesses up to ordering the Amstel Light.

"We want to reward the Bruin who ordered the Amstel Light to recognize him for making a great decision," the company said in a press release.

Bruins captain Zdeno Chara said last week that the bill wasn’t anywhere near the $156,000 shown on the receipt, mostly because the $100,000 super-sized bottle of champagne was a gift from the club.
