Peverley out tonight with minor injury

BOSTON -- Bruins forward Rich Peverley will not be in the lineup Monday night against the New York Islanders as he continues to battle what the team is calling a minor undisclosed injury.

Peverley has missed the last few practices but he did play against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.

"He needs a few more days," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "He played the last game but it's not getting better, so we're going to allow him to take a few more days."

With Peverley out, Benoit Pouliot will be in the lineup against the Islanders. In 12 games this season, Peverley has three goals and four assists for seven points, along with a minus-1 rating. Pouliot has not registered a point in eight games and holds a minus-3 rating.

Pouliot skated on the left side during the team's morning skate on Monday at TD Garden along with center Chris Kelly and right winger Jordan Caron.
