On the day the locked-out Boston Celtics were supposed to open their 2011-12 season, forward Glen Davis had a message for the NBA Players’ Association and the league.
"Take the 51% man and let's play,” Big Baby tweeted Wednesday afternoon, referring to the primary sticking point in negotiations between the union and the league. The players want 52.5 percent of basketball-related income, while the league is standing pat on its 50 percent proposal.
Baby’s tweet indicates his preference for the sides to split the difference and get back to hoops.
Once the sides come to an agreement, the 25-year-old Davis will be a free agent. He has spent all four of his season in the NBA with the Celtics.
