More confident chatter from Terry

Jason Terry's confidence in his new team appears to know no bounds.

Not shy about praising his new club since signing with the Boston Celtics in July, Terry told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he thinks the C's will capture their 18th championship this coming season.

Referencing his recently completed Celtics tattoo on his left forearm, Terry said theres "no doubt" in his mind that Boston will win it all.

"I've already got my predictions right here," Terry said, pointing to his biceps. "Now it's a little Celtic man.

"[The tattoo is] healing up now, but it's a Celtic man and he's got the trophy spinning. That's nothing to spite what we did in Dallas, but I think we've got a team where we're going to do it again -- there's no doubt in my mind."

The effusive praise didn't stop there, though. Discussing new teammate Rajon Rondo, Terry endorsed him as the best point guard in the NBA. That claim will surely draw the ire of NBA fans with the likes of Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Derrick Rose, and Russell Westbrook deserving mention in such a debate. But, for what it's worth, Terry also said that former Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd -- now with the New York Knicks -- offered Rondo the same praise.

For those who are not sold on Rondo, Terry got a ringing endorsement from Jason Kidd, who left the Mavs last month to sign a three-year, $9 million free agent deal with the New York Knicks.

"Jason Kidd gave him the greatest compliment I've ever heard from a Hall of Famer that's still playing," Terry said. "He said, 'There's no question Rajon Rondo is the best point guard.

"Chris Paul is great. Deron Williams is great, but Rajon Rondo is the best point guard in the NBA."

Rondo being backed by Kidd on such a matter doesn't settle the debate by any means, but he has to be flattered by one of the best point guards of the last 20 years -- and quite possibly of all-time -- delivering such a compliment.

As for Terry, expect the bold claims and lasting praise for his new club and teammates to continue. Not one to shy away from the pressure of such statements, Terry will surely add an extra dose of swagger to the Celtics' locker room this coming season.
