With Rajon Rondo lost for the season in late January, few were expecting to find a member of the Boston Celtics on this year's MVP voting. But Kevin Garnett earned a single fifth-place vote, which was enough to tie him for 12th place in the balloting.
LeBron James was the near-unanimous choice, receiving 120 of the 121 first-place votes (Carmelo Anthony got the other while finishing third behind James and Kevin Durant), and won his second consecutive MVP award (and fourth in five seasons).
Garnett won the MVP award during the 2003-04 season. Last season, Rondo finished eighth in the voting with 12 total points.
