The Boston Celtics are bringing in 12 players for a pre-draft workout on Monday:
Bryce Cotton, Providence College
Kadeem Batts, Providence College
Chaz Williams, UMass
Deonte Burton, Nevada
Nick Johnson, Arizona
Russ Smith, Louisville
Xavier Thames, San Diego State
Kendrick Perry, Youngstown State
Kyle Casey, Harvard
Reger Dowell, Texas-Arlington
Semaj Christon, Xavier
Tim Frazier, Penn State
There are no potential first-rounders in this batch, but Nevada's Burton and Louisville's Smith are probably the two most notable names on a list that also includes local college guys like Harvard's Casey and Providence's Cotton and Batts.
The Celtics don't have a second-round pick in this year's draft (they traded it as part of last year's shuffle up to nab Kelly Olynyk) but have always been diligent about kicking the tires on all available prospects. Last year, when Phil Pressey went undrafted, the Celtics signed him and he appeared in 75 games during his rookie season.
