Reports: Faverani arrested for drunk driving

Boston Celtics center Vitor Faverani was arrested for drunk driving on Sunday in Spain, according to multiple overseas reports.

Faverani reportedly collided with a bus after running a red light in Valencia, according to La Opinion de Malaga. The paper reported there were no injuries, but noted that Faverani registered a blood-alcohol rate that was three times the legal limit when twice tested by police.

The Celtics did not immediately issue a comment on the arrest.

Faverani, a Brazil native whose rookie season with the Celtics was cut short due to a meniscus tear, was rehabbing in Valencia and previously said he hoped to be near full strength upon returning to Boston in early September.

Faverani signed a three-year contract last summer and is scheduled to earn $2.1 million this season. His salary for the 2015-16 season is nonguaranteed.
