BOSTON -- Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo wouldn't divulge the specifics from his conversations with old friend Kendrick Perkins, but after the Oklahoma City Thunder big man suggested Wednesday that he believes Rondo should re-sign with Boston this offseason, Rondo reaffirmed his desire for that to happen.
"From media day at the beginning [of the season], that’s what I said initially," said Rondo, who offered an emphatic "yes" when asked in late September if he desired to stay in Boston.
Rondo is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, though both sides have expressed a desire for a long-term extension.
"Regardless of what’s going on in the season, my perspective hasn’t changed," Rondo added Wednesday night. "I love being a Celtic."
Perkins said before Wednesday's game that Rondo should re-sign in Boston. But Rondo wouldn't reveal any specifics from his conversations with Perkins.
"I can’t really say what we talk about, really," Rondo said. "He told me some things too, but I won’t put him on blast."

Rondo flirted with another triple-double on Wednesday night, posting 20 points, 12 assists and 9 rebounds over 36:16 after undergoing a minor surgical procedure Saturday to remove screws from his left hand.
Rondo still is not satisfied with his play.
"We’re on Game 6 for me. It’s still kind of preseason, but everything counts," he said. "I'm still trying to get my rhythm, my wind and my timing with my teammates. I’m still a long way from where I want to be. I just want to continue to work."
