If Boston Celtics second-year point guard Phil Pressey had any rust from a string of recent DNPs, he shook it quickly while posting 34 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds in his NBA Development League debut on Thursday with the Maine Red Claws.
Wearing No. 4 for Maine, Pressey connected on 11 of 25 shots while playing 42 minutes in a 101-96 loss to Iowa. Fellow Celtics assignee Andre Dawkins finished with seven points on 2-of-9 shooting (0 for 6 beyond the 3-point arc).
Pressey had essentially been a healthy DNP in four of Boston's last six games. He had played only 17 total minutes since Jan. 26. The Celtics were off Thursday after completing a back-to-back.
